In New Partnership, Air France-KLM and Delta Are the Official Airlines of the European Travel Commission
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today in New York, executives from the European Travel Commission (ETC), Air France-KLM and Delta Air Lines signed an agreement officially launching an integrated, multi-pronged marketing campaign, to debut first week of April, that will promote travel to Europe this Spring and Summer. Air France-KLM and Delta will be recognized by the ETC as their official airlines, and, working together, the partnership will encourage travel to Europe with an advertising campaign entitled “You and Europe”.
The campaign will position Europe as the “must-see” travel destination, remind Americans of Europe’s value and special experience and the unique benefits of choosing Delta, Air France or KLM to travel there. The consumer and travel professional campaign, using print, television and online media along with promotions and sweepstakes, is designed to evoke the special relationship Americans enjoy with Europe and its extraordinarily rich collection of romantic, historical, and cultural destinations. Together, the three carriers have the largest network across the Atlantic offering travelers the greatest connectivity and ease of travel in getting to their European destinations.
“The ETC’s mission is to show the irresistible and unique appeal of Europe, and naturally we’re very enthusiastic about launching this campaign with these leading airline partners as the official airlines of the ETC,” said Jean-Philippe Pérol, Chairman of the ETC. “With the dollar gaining strength, it’s the perfect time for Americans to embrace their love for Europe and reclaim the great value it represents.”
Air France Vice President Sales USA Bruno Georgelin said “Air France-KLM is excited to be a part of this fully integrated campaign focusing on the joy of traveling to Europe that will reach our target audiences at multiple points. This campaign will allow consumers to learn more about the many benefits that our relationship with Delta affords them in terms of expansiveness of our combined networks, and the seamless, high quality service they can expect when traveling with us.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of such an innovative campaign highlighting the value and variety of destinations within Europe, especially since Delta is opening new US gateways and introducing nonstop flights to new European destinations this summer. We can’t imagine any better partners than Air France, KLM and the ETC in enticing travelers to cross the pond,” said Gail Grimmett, Senior Vice President, NY for Delta.
The Leading Hotels of the World joins the campaign with its Great European Sale, offering 30% off rates on its portfolio of exquisite European hotels. Rates include daily breakfast and VAT (Value Added Tax), making it one of the most exceptional offers available at the luxury level.
To celebrate the partnership, the partners are offering a chance to win two pairs of tickets to Europe. Winners will fly Delta or Air France roundtrip and spend four nights with breakfast in one of two Leading Hotels of the World. Details will be available at www.visiteurope.com beginning April 3.
