GoPetFriendly.com Launches Interactive Site To Make Pet Travel Easy, Affordable & Fun
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Starting today, pet lovers everywhere will be able to plan affordable fun vacations with their furry loved ones by using GoPetFriendly.com (GPF) – a one-stop-shop interactive site of pet-friendly accommodations, attractions, activities and service providers.
GPF provides up-to-date pet policy information for nearly 30,000 pet-friendly hotels, bed and breakfasts and campgrounds throughout the United States and Canada. Whether traveling with multiple pets, cats or larger dogs, GPF users are able to search for accommodations that suit their budget and travel needs.
Users can sort through GPF’s thousands of pet-friendly restaurants, activities, attractions and other points of interest, including:
- Off-leash dog parks
- Pet-friendly beaches
- Restaurants where pets are welcome
- National parks with rules regarding pets’ access
- Shopping centers where pets are welcome to browse
- Wineries that allow pets
GPF also provides a list of service providers including pet sitters, dog walkers, doggie daycares, veterinarians, animal hospitals and boarding facilities. The site will eventually include dog trainers as well.
Created by pet lovers Rod and Amy Burkert, who love traveling with their pets Buster and Ty, GPF takes traveling with pets to another level. “We believe that if it’s easy for people to travel with their pet more pets will get to go on vacation, and that will encourage more businesses to 'Go Pet Friendly',” said Founder Amy Burkert.
Another unique feature is the exclusive Roadtrip Planner application, which allows users to map out their road trip. Just enter the origin, destination and number of miles you wish to travel per day. The result is a roadmap and driving directions of pet-friendly accommodations at waypoints along your route. From there, you can locate attractions, activities and service providers for the whole “pack” to enjoy together.
GPF users are also able to rate their travel experiences by posting comments about the accommodations, activities and service providers they utilized. The site’s community forum page allows users to write an entry about highlights and upload photos and videos from their travel ventures.
“We hope to make traveling with pets an exceptional experience for our users,” added Burkert.
