CAV International Ranks No. 573 on the 2009 “Inc. 5000”
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CAV International, Inc., a US Government outsourcing contractor specialized in Airfield Services & Logistics, has been ranked #573 on the coveted “Inc. 5000” with three-year sales growth of 471% from 2005 through December 31, 2008. The “Inc. 5000” is an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies by Inc. Magazine. The list represents a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs and owners.
“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the ‘Inc. 5000’ is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said ‘Inc. 5000’ project manager Jim Melloan at Inc. Magazine. “That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year.”
CAV International operates in the growing military outsourcing arena, and has an established reputation for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in its past performance for the US Government. The company maintains a lean cost model, and is able to offer its Government or Prime Contractor customers an absolute cost advantage combined with measurably superior quality metrics on a consistent basis. In 2008, CAV performed over 625,000 man-hours of quality-driven professional services, handled over 18,000 USAF airplanes across 19 time zones, processed over 850,000 in-transit military passengers, and managed over 140,000 tons of cargo. Considered to be experts at Airfield Services & Logistics, the majority of CAV's contracts currently serve the US Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command at numerous locations.
The 2009 “Inc. 5000” serves as a unique report card on the U.S. economy. Despite the ongoing recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $214 billion, up $29 billion from last year, with a median three-year growth rate of 126 percent. The “Inc. 5000” are responsible for creating more than 1 million jobs since their founding, making the list perhaps the best example of the positive impact that private, fast-growing companies can have on the economy. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles, can be found at www.inc.com.
This year’s list also offers a preview of which industries are poised for growth in coming years. Government Services was the top industry gainer with 252 companies on this year’s list, up from 135 last year. CAV International ranked #58 among those fast growing Government Services contractors.
Carroll Vaughan, founder and President of CAV International, said: "Boeing recently published an estimate that Government Outsourcing will be a $400 Billion total market over the next 10 years. CAV is well positioned to keep growing with that rising trend, both independently and teamed with larger prime contractors. We are proud to be included on the Inc. 5000.”
In the 1st Quarter of 2009, CAV International was acquired by Ranger International Services Group, Inc., a private equity consolidation platform created by Ranger Aerospace LLC, First New England Capital, and other investors.
