Dépèche transmise le 12 octobre 2009 par PRNewswire
AMSTERDAM, October 12 /PRNewswire/ -- ARCADIS , the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, today announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Air Force as one of the prime contractors for the $3 billion Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction 2009 (WERC09) program. Under this program ARCADIS is allowed to compete for task orders with a select number of competitors.
The program, administered through the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), is a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract focused on environmental remediation and site cleanup at Department of Defense sites, mostly Air Force bases, around the world.
As a WERC09 contractor, ARCADIS will perform a range of environmental services, including concept development, remediation plans, site cleanup, repair and construction, with the objective of meeting technical and regulatory requirements. The contract also allows for restoration services in support of the Military Munitions Response Program.
"This is the first program of this size from the U.S. Air Force for which ARCADIS has been selected as a prime contractor. In that position we will be able to leverage our global resources and capabilities to effectively compete for task orders. Our global footprint, our full range of services and our proven ability to handle the most demanding and challenging remediation tasks will allow us to win major projects under this important program", said Steve Blake, CEO of the U.S. activities of ARCADIS.
ARCADIS is one of the premiere remediation specialists selected for the WERC09 full and open contract, from dozens of bidders. The performance period for the remediation projects is five years for basic services ordering, with three additional years to complete performance. Work is scheduled to begin in late 2009.
