PPG Aerospace Boosts Operator Service for P180, Falcon 20/50/200 Windshields
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) aerospace transparencies group is enhancing operator sales and service of replacement windshields for Piaggio P180 and Dassault Falcon 20/50/200 airplanes with stocks maintained for immediate delivery.
PPG Aerospace is beginning direct sales of replacement windshields for P180 aircraft and relaunching sales to operators of the forward-facing windshields for Falcon 20/50/200 airplanes, according to Jim Romano, PPG Aerospace global sales director for aftermarket transparencies.
“Our Application Support Centers (ASCs) located around the world in key aerospace regions provide convenient, local access with qualified staff to handle sales and customer service for replacement windshields for P180 and Falcon 20/50/200 airplanes,” Romano said.
The 11.5-square-foot heated glass windshields for the P180 are among the world’s largest and most complex windshields for general and business aviation aircraft, according to Romano. “PPG worked with Piaggio to design the windshields and has manufactured them since the program was launched,” he said. “We are now bringing that expertise to operators.”
The forward-facing heated windshields for Falcon 20/50/200 airplanes have four glass plies.
“Operators will benefit from the scratch and craze resistance of the all-glass design,” Romano said.
PPG manufactures the windshields at its Huntsville, Ala., aircraft transparencies plant.
Information is available through PPG’s ASCs, which are listed on the PPG Aerospace Web site at www.ppgaerospace.com.
PPG Aerospace is displaying the P180 and Falcon 20/50/200 windshields at exhibit booth 1881 at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annual meeting and convention at the Orange County Convention Center here through Thursday.
