DARPA Radar Projects with Vincent Sabio of DARPA's Information Innovation Office
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It is an exciting time in the radar world! Advances in technology are allowing for reduced size, weight, and power, as well as lowered cost. Radar is starting to see applications in even the smallest unmanned systems. However, there are still many technical challenges to overcome.
In keeping with these developments, Vincent Sabio, Program Manager for Advanced ISR Initiatives in DARPA's Information Innovation Office, spoke with IDGA’s Senior Editor Nick Yonker and discussed the latest in military radar technology and development. He details current radar systems being used in theater in Afghanistan and also elaborates on technologies under development that could transform current capabilities such as space based systems. He also talks about the biggest challenges facing development of new technologies and also how if implemented they could greatly change the battlefield.
The Podcast has been made available here.
Vincent Sabio will be speaking at IDGA’s 4th Annual Military Radar Summit scheduled for February 7-9, 2011 at the Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner Hotel, Vienna, VA.
