Next Generation Avionics with CAPT Robert Torn of the ALPA
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Due to the greatest congestion of aircraft our national and military airspace has ever seen, the necessity to implement more efficient avionics systems is at an all time high. Avionics leaders are searching for solutions for cockpit electronics, interface systems, and air traffic management in order to address national military and commercial aviation requirements.
In keeping with these developments, CAPT Robert Torn, the International Federation of Airline Pilots Association Air Traffic Service Committee Chair and the ALPA's Next Generation Project Lead spoke with IDGA’s Senior Editor Nick Yonker on some of the forthcoming next generation avionics systems that could transform current aviation practices. He also talks about how he sees these changes impacting commercial aviation in the coming years and how military and civilian cooperation and information sharing in regards to next generation avionics can benefit both sides.
The Podcast has been made available here.
CAPT Robert Torn will be speaking at IDGA’s 4th Annual NextGen Avionics Summit scheduled for February 14-16, 2011 at the Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner Hotel, Vienna, VA. As a bonus to the summit briefings attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the 2010 NextGen Implementation Plan and a DVD compilation of NextGen videos compliments of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
