Non-Traditional ISR with CDR Christopher Hewlett, USN, of the Joint Staff, J-5 Asia Division
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Non-Traditional Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (NTISR) is emerging as the chosen supplement to our overworked ISR force. This new technology is a force-multiplier and allows increased actionable intelligence collection. The transformation of NTISR systems is being developed through institutional changes that are reshaping mission integration, communication, and intelligence systems making this the most relevant time to meet with key government and industry experts. Acquisition decisions and requirements for industry are being made right now.
In keeping with these developments, CDR Christopher Hewlett, Action Officer on the Joint Staff in the J-5 Asia Division, spoke with IDGA’s Senior Editor Nick Yonker on the non-traditional ISR and the joint approach to the concept. He details what he sees as the biggest NTISR challenge that U.S. and coalition forces face. He also talks about what he sees as solutions to overcome these issues and what must be done to implement them effectively.
The Podcast has been made available here.
CDR Hewlett will deliver a briefing at this year's 2nd Non-Traditional Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Summit taking place March 21-23, 2011 at the Marriott Wardman Park, Washington, DC. To gain insight on whom you will meet at the summit view the 2010 Non-Traditional ISR Attendee List which provides the job titles and companies of summit attendees last year.
