LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AECOM Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Officer Jane Chmielinski and Senior Vice President and General Counsel Nancy Laben will deliver a keynote address during the 2011 Global Ethics Summit, March 15-16, in New York City.

“Successful Strategies for Aligning Compliance Priorities with Business Objectives”

In an opening-day session titled “Successful Strategies for Aligning Compliance Priorities with Business Objectives,” Chmielinski and Laben will discuss how compliance professionals can work with their colleagues in business operations to drive successful ethics and compliance programs. Among the topics that Chmielinski and Laben will explore include:

  • Strategies for translating the “tone from the top” into concrete action across the organization;
  • How to compete for and win the necessary mindshare among the critical ranks of operations employees;
  • Best practices for keeping ethics and compliance programs fresh and relevant to ensure continued organizational interest and awareness; and
  • The effective use of “showing by example” to demonstrate the implications and consequences of improper acts and the benefits to the business of operating ethically and with integrity.

According to the keynote session’s moderator, Tim Erblich, executive vice president, Ethisphere Institute, “The effectiveness of a compliance and ethics program is oftentimes heavily dependent upon the buy-in received from the rest of the company that has business operations and profits top of mind. This session will discuss the importance, challenges of and best practices in disseminating critical compliance standards and messages through various business channels while minimizing distractions from day-to-day operations.”
