New Low-Power/High-Performance, Programmable, Rugged, COTS cPCI Solution from North Atlantic Industries—Reduces time to Market, Lowers Development Costs
BOHEMIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--North Atlantic Industries (NAI) introduces family of 3U cPCI off-the-shelf solutions, ideally suited for sensor and communication data acquisition, distribution, processing and management for a wide range of land, sea and air military platforms. The 75DP3 Single Board Computer, coupled with the 75D3 or 75C3 multi-function I/O boards provides a complete, low-power/high-performance, programmable, 3U cPCI solution for space-constrained, resource-limited, embedded systems.
“NAI has made a strong commitment to support the needs of our embedded computing customers. Due to SWaP-constrained applications and increasingly reduced budgets, customers are more than ever looking for off-the-shelf total solutions that require less effort and expense to deploy”
The 75DP3 is a single slot, 3U cPCI SBC configured with Freescale’s™ PowerPC MPC8536 or Analog Devices’ Blackfin® BF533 processor. Functions supported by the 75D3 or 75C3 include Digital I/O (Discrete, Differential, TTL), Analog I/O (A/D, D/A, RTD, Strain Gage), Motion Control and Sensor Interfaces (Synchro/ Resolver/LVDT/RVDT Measurement and Simulation, Encoder/Counter), and Communication Interfaces (RS232/422/485, MIL-STD-1553, CANBus, ARINC 429/575 and Gigabit Ethernet Switch). All function data is available on the cPCI Bus or Gigabit Ethernet.
“NAI has made a strong commitment to support the needs of our embedded computing customers. Due to SWaP-constrained applications and increasingly reduced budgets, customers are more than ever looking for off-the-shelf total solutions that require less effort and expense to deploy,” said Lino Massafra, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our new 3U cPCI product family offers a higher level of functionality and integration which translates into increased performance for our customers.”
SBC Processor Options:
U3 Processor Module: Utilizes Freescale’s 1.25 GHz e500 core MPC8536 PowerPC processor, coupled with Wind River’s VxWorks 6.x BSP and NAI’s full complement of libraries, system integrators are given complete control over the development of their I/O systems using a total NAI solution.
U2 Processor Module: Designed with Analog Devices’ 500 MHz low power BlackfinBF-533 processor, users can confidently take advantage of the powerful real-time Visual DSP++ Development environment. Armed with NAI’s function libraries, real-time “C” code applications can be developed and deployed quickly for sensor control and communication management systems.
