Research and Markets: The Danish Defense Industry: Market Opportunities and Entry Strategies Analyses and Forecasts to 2015

DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/d1be86/the_danish_defense) has announced the addition of iCD Research's new report "The Danish Defense Industry Market Opportunities and Entry Strategies Analyses and Forecasts to 2015" to their offering.

“The Danish Defense Industry Market Opportunities and Entry Strategies Analyses and Forecasts to 2015”

During the review period Danish defense expenditure registered a CARC of -0.45%, and in 2010 was valued at US$4.1 billion. Active participation in NATO and United Nations peacekeeping missions, counter-piracy operations and measures against potential terrorist threats stimulated expenditure during the review period. Such factors are expected to continue to drive defense expenditure throughout the forecast period, with spending likely to increase at a CAGR of 0.10% to reach US$4.18 billion by 2015. The Danish defense budget stood at 1.3% of GDP in 2010, and is expected to decline to 1.2% of GDP by 2015 as the country's GDP grows at a faster rate than its defense budget.

The capital expenditure allocation of the defense budget, which stood at an average of 24.0% during the review period, is estimated to increase to an average of 25.0% during the forecast period as a result of Denmark's ministry of defenses (MoD) armed forces modernization plans. Personnel expenditure accounted for the highest revenue budget allocation, with an average of 68.0% of the total revenue budget during the review period and it is expected to continue to constitute, on average, 69% of the revenue budget during the forecast period. Personnel expenditure consists primarily of remuneration for military forces.

Key opportunities for the country are expected in areas such as Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), armored vehicles, ship-based helicopters and advanced communication systems. The Danish Navy plans to acquire twelve MH-60R multi-mission helicopters and associated parts, equipment and logistical support from the US for an estimated US$2.0 billion, which is likely to improve country's anti-submarine and surface warfare capability and provide improved search and rescue and anti-ship surveillance capability.

This report offers insights into the market opportunities and entry strategies adopted by foreign OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to gain a market share in the Danish defense industry.
