BAE Systems HybriDrive® Makes UITP Debut
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BAE Systems will be making its first appearance at a major UITP event, the 59th World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition. The event is being staged at the Dubai World Trade Center, from 10-13 April 2011.
BAE Systems is a leader in hybrid electric propulsion and power management systems.
BAE Systems HybriDrive® family comprises an extensive range of proven systems recognised for their outstanding contributions to clean air, carbon reduction and energy efficiency in the global transportation industry.
These systems have been in operational service in the transit bus and rail markets for over 15 years.
HybriDrive® for transit bus – the world’s most successful series hybrid electric propulsion system
BAE Systems’ stand will feature an example of their highly successful HybriDrive family of heavy-duty hybrid propulsion systems: the HybriDrive series system - the world’s best-selling series hybrid electric solution for the transit bus market.
HybriDrive series provides exceptional performance, passenger comfort and fuel economy whilst the modular series architecture offers a route to a future full electric vehicle (EV) solution. Over 3,000 buses powered by HybriDrive are already in operation in major cities around the world, including New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, London, Manchester, Lyon and Milan.
A proven, robust system delivering class-leading fuel economy, these vehicles have travelled more than 200 million miles, saving operators 10 millions gallons of fuel and preventing the release of 100,000 tons of CO2.
HybriDrive® for rail – building upon a strong legacy
BAE Systems has a strong track record in the rail market, having supplied a range of power and energy management products to more than 8,000 locomotives that have collectively passed the 500 million-service hours milestone.
Today the HybriDrive family of products brings to the rail market a new generation of power management capabilities that can provide operators with higher energy efficiency, lighter weight, and superior braking energy recovery.
Please come and visit us on stand 8C100 to see our products and discuss with us how HybriDrive® could help improve your bus and rail solutions.
