Optomec Reports Continued Growth in First Quarter 2011
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Optomec, the world leader in high-performance additive manufacturing systems, today announced financial performance for its first quarter ending March 31, 2011. The company reported profits for the quarter and strong sales performance across all product lines, notably with Aerosol Jet system sales increasing 60% year over year.
The order breakdown included 6 new System customers, bringing Optomec’s global installed base to well more than 100 users. Sales momentum increased for Aerosol Jet printed electronic systems across multiple markets, including receipt of repeat orders for production repair solutions used for LCD panels, touch panels, and Electronic Paper Display (EPD) TFTs. In addition, the company added to its growing list of Solar customers using Aerosol Jet to develop high-efficiency solar cells.
Sales of LENS systems, used for the repair and manufacture of high-value metal components, also remained strong. The company reported that the overall increase in systems sales resulted in a book to bill ratio of 1.7 for the quarter.
