Bal Seal to Demonstrate Solutions for Aerospace & Military/Defense at Paris 2011
Dépèche transmise le 16 juin 2011 par Business Wire
PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bal Seal Engineering, Inc., a global provider of custom-engineered sealing, connecting, conducting and EMI shielding solutions for the aerospace and military/defense industries, will demonstrate examples of low friction seals in FLIR pods, electrical contacts for current and signal transmission, and other related applications at this year’s Paris Airshow. Those interested in learning more are invited to visit Bal Seal’s stand #86, hall 2B, aisle H from June 20th-26th at the show site in Le Bourget.
“are our vast engineering resources and the experience we bring to bear on each application. Paris provides us with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate these capabilities in an environment that’s extremely conducive to technical conversation and problem-solving.”
Bal Seal recently introduced a new material formulation specifically designed for applications requiring low frictional drag on azimuth and elevation turret motors in FLIR pods. The material blend is machined into a unique configuration that enables positive environmental sealing in harsh conditions while protecting internal electronics and drive systems. This combination of material science and custom seal design ensures long, reliable life of electric motors and combat-readiness of FLIR technology.
In addition to sealing solutions, most commercial and military/defense hardware requires electrical connectors to carry current, handle data or communications signals, or enable movement. The Canted-coil™ spring from Bal Seal combines both electrical and mechanical properties into one component, reducing system complexity and part count while increasing performance over traditional contact devices.
Bal Seal says it will exhibit at the airshow in order to engage potential clients and understand the problems they are trying to solve.
“What sets us apart from other seal and contact manufacturers,” says Hugh Cook, VP of Engineering for Bal Seal, “are our vast engineering resources and the experience we bring to bear on each application. Paris provides us with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate these capabilities in an environment that’s extremely conducive to technical conversation and problem-solving.”
To get a closer look at how Bal Seal’s products function in aerospace and defense equipment, attendees can try “hands-on” demonstration samples at the booth and watch a photorealistic animation that depicts land, sea, and air applications. In addition, a new technical brochure describing seal and spring attributes and typical uses for Bal Seal technology will be distributed. Cook and his team will also be available for technical discussions throughout the show.
