CMAI & Intratec Announce Completion of TIP Polypropylene Series
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chemical Market Associates, Inc. (CMAI), acquired by IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS - www.ihs.com), is pleased to announce the release of the two additional reports in the Polyolefins series of the Technology Intelligence Program (TIP) – Impact Polypropylene Processes and Advances in Polypropylene Catalysts Technology Report and Polypropylene Processes Consolidated Report, which completes the Polypropylene Series. TIP reports are jointly developed by CMAI and Intratec Solutions LLC (Intratec).
TIP Technology Reports provide a comprehensive review and evaluation of process technology, capital and production costs, market overviews and profitability analysis for production technologies of interest to the chemical industry. The Impact Polypropylene Processes and Advances in Polypropylene Catalysts Technology Report provides an in-depth analysis of technologies to produce impact copolymers and also includes a comprehensive technical discussion about catalyst technology. In addition, the current status of catalyst research is summarized along with an in depth review of patents relating to polypropylene catalyst development over the past five years. The report compares and contrasts process differences among major technologies, analyzing different business scenarios according to level of OSBL integration. The report includes an overview of select auxiliary units including polymer finishing and monomer purification.
TIP Consolidated Reports provide a comparative analysis of the various processes and technologies covered in associated TIP Technology Reports - Polypropylene via Bulk and Hybrid Processes Technology Report, Polypropylene via Gas Phase Processes Technology Report, and Impact Polypropylene and Catalyst Advances Technology Report. The Polypropylene Processes Consolidated Report also features an overview of the polypropylene manufacturing chain, extending from propylene production through polypropylene fabrication processes. Overviews of the polypropylene market are provided for ten geographic regions of the world. Economic analysis is performed based on pricing from CMAI’s proprietary database, providing a market-based assessment of the internal rate of return for state-of-the-art projects in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America, illustrating regional differences in performance for the major polypropylene production processes. Sensitivity analysis is performed for key variables including capital cost, product pricing, feedstock cost and project timing.
TIP Reports serve as important tools for executives, engineers, academics and many decision makers in a broad range of situations, when it is necessary to predict, in an unbiased way, crucial operating and performance information about specific processes/technologies.
