MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DHL, the world's leading logistics company, announces that Vice President of Human Resources and Regional Compliance Officer, John Hovnanian, has been selected as a finalist for the Human Resources Executive of the Year category of The 2011 American Business Awards. John manages a team of 86 HR professionals across the Americas region, supporting more than 8,000 employees. Based out of Miami, he is a highly experienced human resources professional, known for his innovative solutions.

The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. The finalists for the Human Resources Executives of the Year category are chosen based on their accomplishments carried out since January 2010, how these accomplishments relate to past performance or industry norms, obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made and outcomes.

More than 2,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in The American Business Awards’ more than 40 categories. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May. John is one of six finalists vying for the position of winner of the Human Resources Executive of the Year category. The winner will be announced at the 9th annual Stevie Awards banquet and presentation in New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel on Monday, June 20. The Stevie Awards are conferred in four programs, The American Business Awards being one of them.
