Helicopter Services Leader RLC Makes Strategic Executive Appointments

BROUSSARD, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RLC, the largest privately-held helicopter operator in the Gulf of Mexico, today announced key appointments in finance and business development. Joan McCarthy has been named CFO, bringing the company extensive expertise in management and accounting including more than 15 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas service industry. Travis Latiolais, RLC’s newly-named Vice President of Business Development, is a highly regarded sales, marketing and operations leader with a 15-year track record of excellence in the offshore helicopter industry.

“It will be a major advantage for our organization and our customers to have a business development professional with such a deep understanding of aircraft operation and maintenance”

“Joan and Travis have impressive backgrounds and strong business acumen, making them a great fit for our team,” said Dru Milke, CEO of RLC. “Their proven leadership skills will be tremendous assets as we take RLC to the next level of operational excellence, service and growth.”

With a broad background in financial operations, controls and reporting, McCarthy has excelled in finance leadership roles with Offshore Logistics, Inc., a major provider of helicopter transportation for the oil and gas industry and GulfMark Offshore, Inc., a global provider of marine transportation. Most recently, McCarthy led financial operations for Moreno Group, LLC, a global leader in fabrication and construction.

Latiolais comes to RLC after spending the past 11 years at global helicopter services operator Bristow Group (formerly Air Logistics). Most recently at Bristow, Latiolais served as Sales Manager of the North American Business Unit. Earlier in his tenure with the company, he held leadership positions in maintenance and operations including Base Operations Manager and Maintenance Control Inspector. Latiolais began his career as a maintenance technician at PHI. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in professional aeronautics management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is a licensed, private pilot of fixed wing aircraft.

“It will be a major advantage for our organization and our customers to have a business development professional with such a deep understanding of aircraft operation and maintenance,” Milke commented.

McCarthy and Latiolais join RLC only two months after the company made a series of significant announcements including a strategic investment, the appointment of a new CEO, the rollout of a fresh corporate brand identity and the receipt of two safety awards.
