Phoenix International Freight Services, Ltd. Recognized Again as a Top Workplace and Healthy Company
WOOD DALE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Phoenix International Freight Services, Ltd. is pleased to be recognized as a 2012 top U.S. workplace, adding to its growing list of honors in connection with employee culture. 2012 also marks the third consecutive year of being named one of the “Healthiest Companies in America,” proudly accomplished through the support of a strong employee wellness program.
“This honor goes to everyone here in the Newark office. Without your participation and all the positive hard work you have done, obtaining this honor wouldn’t have been possible.”
Phoenix International’s Newark, New Jersey office has been named as one of the 2012 “100 Best Places to Work in New Jersey” by the New Jersey Business Journal (NJBIZ). Newark general manager, Steven Tu, congratulates his team: “This honor goes to everyone here in the Newark office. Without your participation and all the positive hard work you have done, obtaining this honor wouldn’t have been possible.”
Former Newark general manager, Matt McInerney (now vice-president of global sales), exclaims: “Congratulations to our entire Newark team for creating such a great work environment. It is certainly something to be proud of as it does not happen by accident…There is a part of me that will always be there with all of you in spirit, so I feel tremendously happy to know our people enjoy working in Newark as much as I did.”
This award arrives shortly after the Phoenix International Cleveland office earned a spot on the “Top 100 Workplaces of Ohio” in 2011, and the Chicago/Corporate offices achieved similar recognition in Illinois in 2008, 2010 and 2011. These awards are typically based upon feedback from employees via external employee surveys and comparison of benefits, training programs, turnover statistics, etc.
Interactive Health Solutions has once again named Phoenix International as one of the “Healthiest Companies in America” for 2012. “This achievement is largely due to our commitment to wellness, including the rising popularity of our annual health-screening program and the overall results of our group as benchmarked against other employers,” said Lori Buckley, general counsel & vice-president of human resources.
“We are honored to be recognized repeatedly for our dedication to employee culture and wellness. We understand that our continued growth is driven by satisfied employees who will be there for our future. While many companies proclaim that their employees are their biggest asset, we continually look for ways to make that a reality, and not just rhetoric. We firmly believe in continuous development of programs, training and wellness efforts to nurture our thriving culture,” added Buckley.
Phoenix International is the largest privately owned international freight forwarder, NVOCC and Customs broker headquartered in North America, with more than 2,000 employees in 72 global offices and annual sales of approximately $1 billion.
