Flight Options, LLC, a leading provider of fractional shares in
business aircraft and a Raytheon Company (NYSE:RTN), announced today
that the company is fully compliant with the new OpSpec A008 FAA
regulations.
Initially announced on December 28, 2006, today the FAA officially
requires compliance to a newly revised A008 operational specification
which increases transparency and operational control oversight for FAR
part 135 charter operators. Developed and released to ensure increased
safety for charter aircraft passengers, the new regulation enforces
stricter rules for charter aircraft operators.
With full advance compliance to the new regulations, Flight
Options applauds the regulation changes and leads the industry in:
-- Standards of training
-- Standards of maintenance
-- Conformity of crew and aircraft
-- Continuous operational monitoring
"Our advance compliance with A008 was yet another illustration of
Flight Options' industry leading status within the realm of aviation
safety," said S. Michael Scheeringa, chief executive officer, Flight
Options, LLC. "Flight Options is proud to say that we were already
operating under these standards, with conforming training, crew,
maintenance, aircraft and operations, while a large percentage of the
aviation industry must make substantial changes to reach compliance."
Flight Options, LLC offers the complete spectrum of programs from
Fractional First(TM) ownership to leasing to JetPASS Ultimate Travel
membership to Aircraft Management. As the first fractional provider
selected by the FAA to participate in the Aviation Safety Action
Program and to partner in the development of the Safety Management
System prototype, Flight Options' industry leading safety status is
evident. The Flight Options fleet of over 140 aircraft includes the
