L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its WESCAM
(L-3 WESCAM) subsidiary has been selected by Agusta Westland to
provide 56 MX(R)-15Di turrets as the Electro-Optical Laser Designator
system for the United Kingdom's Future Lynx program. System deliveries
are slated to begin late in 2009 and will continue through 2014.
The British Army's Battlefield Reconnaissance Helicopters (BRH)
and the Royal Navy's Surface Combatant Maritime Rotorcraft (SCMR),
Future Lynx's new airframes, will utilize L-3 WESCAM's exceptional
long-range electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) technology to support
crucial maritime, battlefield reconnaissance and combat missions.
In-service dates for Future Lynx are 2013 for the British Army and
2014 for the Royal Navy.
