San Diego Flight Training International Lands Guaranteed Interview Program
Communiqué publié le 25/04/2007 à 17h02

San Diego Flight Training International (SDFTI) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mesa Airlines (NASDAQ: MESA) that will guarantee interviews to recommended SDFTI pilot instructors.

"The demand for commercial pilots is outpacing the training pipeline," said Phil Thalheimer, president of SDFTI. "This partnership is an important development because it builds a powerful combination -- training with career opportunities."

SDFTI is one of only six flight training organizations nationwide to be given this opportunity. With this agreement in place, select pilots at SDFTI will move to the head of the line at Mesa when it comes to securing a job interview.

With a fleet of 198 aircraft, Mesa is a major player in the regional airline class of flight operations, flying 1,200 daily system departures to 170 cities, 46 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Mexico. Mesa operates as US Airways Express, Delta Connection, and United Express under contractual agreement with US Airways, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Mesa also acts independently as Mesa Airlines and "go!" which services the Hawaiian Islands.

"Pairing our training expertise with Mesa will create new opportunities for our students," added Thalheimer. "We are particularly proud to have had Mesa come to us after evaluating our training program, fleet quality and safety record."

SDFTI was noted for several outstanding attributes making it a top-tier training facility:

-- Having all owner-operated and maintained aircraft

-- An FAA approved "Simulator" or advanced flight training device

-- A perfect safety record for its entire 18 year history

-- An FAA "airman certification representative" status (held by less than one percent of flight schools worldwide)

The demand for qualified commercial pilots continues to grow as regional airlines expand routes and aircraft. Industry analysts estimate that 10,000 pilots will be hired in 2007.

"This collaboration is another example of how San Diego Flight Training continues to provide superior job and training opportunities for people looking at a career in aviation," said Thalheimer. "We do more than provide pilots; our training operation creates professional aviators."
