EDO Corporation (NYSE: EDO) has been selected by Lockheed Martin
(NYSE: LMT) to provide the ALR-95 tactical radar Electronic Support
Measures (ESM) and surveillance system for seven P-3C aircraft. The
contract is valued at more than $8 million with deliveries beginning
in mid-2008.
As prime contractor to the U.S. Navy's Naval Air Systems Command,
Lockheed Martin is the mission system integrator for upgrading the
P-3C aircraft's mission avionics. Lockheed Martin and EDO have
collaborated for 10 years to provide the U.S. Government and foreign
military customers with an ESM solution in support of the P-3C
aircraft.
The ALR-95 is a state-of-the-art maritime-patrol ESM system that
enhances the aircraft's survivability by detecting, identifying, and
locating hostile radar signals early and efficiently. With this
information, the aircrew is able to react to the threat.

The P-3C Orion is a highly maneuverable aircraft primarily
designed for reconnaissance, anti-submarine and anti-surface vessel
operations. It has proven to be very effective in its maritime patrol
mission including combating the complex challenges of the war on
terrorism, arms smuggling, and drug trafficking at sea.
