Chicago-based BCI Aircraft Leasing, Inc. ("BCI") today announced
it has opened a South American office in the interest of expanding its
presence in the region. In its first transaction there since the
office opened, the company has leased three Boeing 737-500s to
Aerolineas Argentinas.
BCI's newest office is located Buenos Aires and headed by Pablo
Bottachi, who has been named Managing Director of Latin American
Operations. In this role Mr. Bottachi is responsible for business
development throughout Latin America. He joins BCI from ING Bank N.V.,
where he specialized in structured finance transactions in the
aviation sector.
The company is already reaping South American business
opportunities. According to Richard Horn, Director of Aircraft Sales &
Trading, who was integral in the transaction, the three Boeing
737-500s will go on lease to Aerolineas Argentinas later this year,
for a period of 72 months each. All three aircraft were acquired from
Air France last year.
"We are thrilled that we are already seeing results from our
efforts to further our business in Latin America," said Brian
Hollnagel, President of BCI. "Key members of our marketing team were
successful with Aerolineas Argentinas and with the addition of Pablo
we are further energized by the many exciting, new opportunities that
exist in this part of the world."
