Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. announced today the appointment
of C. David Cush, an executive with American Airlines, to its board of
directors.
"David brings a unique perspective and skill set to our board,"
said Vought Chief Executive Officer Elmer Doty. "His extensive
experience and knowledge of the airline industry will be of great
benefit to Vought."
Cush has a broad background in airline sales, operations and
finance. He currently serves as senior vice president of global sales
for American, responsible for all sales activities worldwide. Previous
positions with American include vice president of the company's St.
Louis Hub and vice president of International Planning and Alliances.
Cush also spent approximately two years with Aerolineas Argentinas,
where he had been chief operating officer from November 1998 to March
2000.
Cush originally joined American in financial planning in 1986. In
1989, he was assigned to American's regional headquarters in London as
managing director of finance and administration for Europe, the Middle
East and Africa.
Cush received bachelor degrees in broadcast/film and psychology
from Southern Methodist University, Dallas. He also holds a master's
degree in business administration from SMU.
