L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has
promoted Bill Whitlow to President of its Aviation and Maritime
Services division (AMSD). Mr. Whitlow assumes the role previously held
by Tom Brennan before his recent retirement from L-3. Prior to his
promotion, Mr. Whitlow was a Vice President at AMSD. AMSD, based in
Marlton, New Jersey, is a recognized industry leader, providing
engineering, management, training and technical support services
nation-wide. In 2006 AMSD continued to expand its role in the
development and integration of Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) under
contracts with the U.S. Navy.

Whitlow to head this vital division of L-3 at a time when our national
security programs are such an integral component of the defense

continues to solve complex problems and challenges. The AMSD
engineering work will help position L-3 for future roles in Unmanned
Aircraft Systems for uses in the military, crime reduction, border
surveillance and other potential commercial applications."
Mr. Whitlow is a retired General Officer who served in the Marines
as a commander, aviator, staff officer and Director of Congressional
and Public Affairs for the United States Marine Corps (USMC). He holds
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, a Master of Arts in
Procurement Management, a Master of Arts in International Affairs, and
a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the
Naval War College.
