Two leading partners of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Air China
and Bank of China, will offer a new co-branded credit card to
consumers and Olympic enthusiasts alike. The Air China and Bank of
China cooperation on this initiative will allow members of Air China's
frequent flyer program, "Air China Companion," to earn travel points
more quickly while supporting the Beijing Olympic Games.
Air China and Bank of China on April 26 signed a "Strategic
Cooperation Agreement for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games" and have
immediately offered the "Air China Companion-BoC-Visa Olympics Credit
Card" as the first step of this alliance. Mr. Li Jiaxiang, Chairman of
Air China, Mr. Cai Jianjiang, the President of Air China, Mr. Li
Lihui, the President of Bank of China, and Mr. Rupert Keeley, Visa
Asia-Pacific Regional President, jointly signed the Agreement.
As the partners of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Air China, Bank
of China, and Visa are joining their brands and pooling their
resources to deliver new benefits to the public. Their sponsorship of
the Beijing Games not only raises the companies' profiles with
travelers and consumers, but it also helps focus attention on the
historic first-ever hosting of the Olympics in China.
"Air China will continue this cooperation with other Beijing
Olympic Games partners to benefit travelers and consumers who share
our excitement over the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games," said Mr. Li
Jiaxiang, Chairman of Air China. "We are a proud sponsor."
As China's sole designated flag carrier and the Airline Partner of
