Taking a broader role in its 2008 Beijing Olympics partnership,
Air China has been appointed the Airline Partner of the 13th World
Olympic Collectors' Fair. Co-sponsored by the International Olympic
Committee (IOC), the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the
29th Olympiad (BOCOG), and the Chinese Olympic Committee, the
Collectors' Fair will be held in Beijing from June 23 to 28, prior to
the Summer Games.
More than one thousand of officials and representatives will come
to Beijing for the global Fair, which has been named as a part of the
Beijing 2008-5th Olympic Cultural Festival by the BOCOG. The World
Olympic Collectors' Fair is an important international activity before
the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Six years ago, in 2001, Beijing won its bid to host the 2008
Olympic Games. In August 2004 Air China was awarded its role as the
only Airline Partner of the 2008 Olympic Games. Air China has served
the Chinese Sports Delegation for more than twenty years, since the
delegation's first Olympic presentation in 1984. Air China and its
employees have enjoyed this relationship with China's Olympic teams
and are now proud to be sponsors of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
"We are delighted to be the Airline Partner to the 2008 Olympic
Games, and we value this further role as Airline Partner to the World
Olympic Collectors' Fair in Beijing before the Games," said Mrs. Zhang
Lan, Senior Vice President for Air China. "This cultural event adds to
the excitement surrounding Beijing in 2008, and we hope our customers
and the community can benefit from this sponsorship."
As China's sole designated flag carrier and the Airline Partner of
the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Air China (HKEX: 0753; LSE: AIRC; SSE:
601111) serves 78 domestic and 39 international cities with an
extensive network from its Beijing hub, conveniently linking
passengers between China and destinations around the world. In North
America, Air China serves New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and
Vancouver with daily non-stop service to Beijing.
