Digital Angel Corporation (Amex:DOC), an advanced technology
company in the field of rapid and accurate identification, location
tracking and condition monitoring of high-value assets, announced
today that its United Kingdom-based subsidiary, Signature Industries,
has signed a contract to supply search and rescue beacon equipment to
the Dubai Air Wing, and has sold and delivered search and rescue
beacons to the UK Ministry of Defence Strike Command.
The Company will supply its high-performance SARBE 6-406G Personal
Locator Beacons to Dubai Air Wing, which is responsible for
transporting members of the Dubai royal family and politicians around
the world. The SARBE 6-406G PLB offers 406MHz transmission with GPS
and fully automatic activation. It incorporates the latest technology
and replaces SARBE 6, which has been used by air, land and sea armed
forces in many countries worldwide.
The Company also announced the sale of SARBE G2R Personal Locator
Beacons for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) Strike Command. The SARBE
G2R beacons are to be used for performing specialist operations while
in transit and remote regions outside UK airspace. THE G2R beacons
feature 406MHZ transmission, which provides global satellite coverage
with virtually immediate alert facilities of an incident, and replace
older generation PLB products which will face obsolescence by 2009.
