Unison Engine Components, formerly Smiths Aerospace, was today
awarded a 7-year multi-million dollar contract from Snecma (a SAFRAN
Group company) for machined engine components on the CFM56-5B/CFM56-7B
engines family and the GE-90-115B engine.
More than 900 engine components will be provided for the CFM56
engines family and the GE90 engine per year for the contract duration.
The components are supplied from the Unison Engine Components -
Asheville, NC facility with deliveries beginning in early 2008.
"This contract employs our close tolerance turning, milling and
broaching technologies," commented Peter Wright, President of Unison
Engine Components. "This adds to our growing content on both the CFM56
engines family and the GE90."

rotating, thin wall aero-engine components from premium grade
materials.
