Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation and its
Aerospace Operations employees around the world congratulate Embraer
for the successful maiden flight of the Phenom 100 on July 26.
The new aircraft's first flight took a little more than one and
one-half hours and included several maneuvers to check flight
characteristics and systems operations. The full test program,
including static and fatigue tests, will follow the maiden flight in
order to obtain Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC)
certification.
As one of the key suppliers on the Phenom 100, Eaton has been
involved from the beginning in designing, developing and manufacturing
the aircraft's hydraulic power generation package; the aircraft's
electronically synchronized flap system; landing gear control
hydraulic components; secondary power distribution system; fluid
conveyance hoses, clamps, quick disconnect couplings and flanges; and
key cockpit controls including the aircraft's throttle control
package, landing gear lever, cockpit display panels and flap selector
lever.
"This is a special day for both Embraer and Eaton and we look
forward to the new aircraft's certification and long-term success in
the marketplace," noted Bradley J. Morton, Eaton vice president and
president, Aerospace Operations.
