V Australia Chooses Sabre to Help Launch Airline’s Operations
SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--V Australia, Sir Richard Branson’s new long-haul Australian carrier and a part of the Virgin Blue Group of Airlines, chose Sabre Airline Solutions as its partner of choice for its flight operations and crew management needs.
V Australia will use the dynamic solutions, the Sabre AirCrews Crew Management Suite and the Sabre AirOps Operations Suite, to manage its daily maintenance and flight operations, automate flight planning, produce flight plans, schedule and manage crew.
In addition, Sabre Airline Solutions offered scalable and adaptable solutions, global support, value-added services, and the largest global airline community to help the new carrier launch. This flexibility, accessibility, choice and experience were key factors in V Australia’s selection of Sabre.
V Australia desired a partner that could provide business expertise and superior solutions across the airline’s entire operations. After a vendor search, V Australia chose to work with Sabre not only because Sabre had the most advanced solutions and an already a successful relationship with its sister carrier Virgin Blue, but also because Sabre guaranteed it would adhere to V Australia’s desired timeline.
Virgin Blue and Sabre have had a thriving partnership for over seven years. Virgin Blue chose Sabre’s integrated, proven solutions several years ago for flight scheduling, flight planning, revenue management, flight operations and crew management. Sabre solutions supported Virgin Blue’s growth while keeping costs low. This was the relationship that V Australia wished to leverage and expand into their own operations.
We wanted a solution that we knew would be in place well before our launch so we could be trained and prepared for our first flight,” said Scott Swift, V Australia’s executive general manager. “We required the most capable and smart solution, and we wanted to operate this solution efficiently and profitably. As we looked at vendors, we turned to our trusted provider, Sabre Airline Solutions, who has been a partner with us at Virgin Blue. They came through for us ahead of our scheduled launch, on budget and with absolute professionalism.”
After working with Virgin Blue and deepening the relationship with the airline, Sabre was thrilled with the opportunity to continue to work with the Virgin Blue Group of Airlines through a new partnership with V Australia.
“It has been great to work with the V Australia team,” said Ilia Kostov, vice president of Operations Solutions at Sabre Airline Solutions. “Their energy and enthusiasm has been contagious,” “We are very proud to have brought our subject matter expertise and proven solutions to V Australia so that they can deliver on their promise to their guests.”
