DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology solutions, today announced a contract with NxStage Medical Inc. to manage shipments of dialysis products across North America. NxStage chose the non-asset based third-party logistics (3PL) provider to move product shipments from Mexico as well as to their customers throughout the United States. Transplace will use its Transportation Management System (TMS) and business intelligence reporting and analytics capabilities to provide NxStage with real time shipment visibility and detailed reporting capabilities.
Headquartered in Lawrence, Mass., NxStage Medical is a medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets innovative systems for the treatment of end-stage renal disease, acute kidney failure and fluid overload.
NxStage Medical Vice President of Planning and Logistics Judith Taylor said, “As we continue to grow, it’s important that NxStage has a strong partner that deeply understands all aspects of the supply chain. Transplace will assist us through technology and experience to satisfy the needs of NxStage Medical and give us the visibility we need to help us meet our customers’ needs.”
“Our common technical operating platform provides seamless visibility to border crossing processes. Transplace Mexico gives NxStage immediate access to the status of all their shipments by leveraging our enterprise deployment of the Microsoft Business Intelligence suite, fed directly in real time from our web-native operating platform,” said Troy Ryley, Transplace Mexico managing director. “By showing NxStage the capabilities of the Transplace TMS, they made their choice of provider based not only on the accurate real-time visibility and exception management processes they need today, but also on the knowledge and expertise available for them to take advantage of tomorrow.”
