Alta’s MIL-STD-1553 Protocol Engine Independently Validated for Network Operations
RIO RANCHO, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alta Data Technologies announced today the completion of full SAE AS4111 protocol validation for its AltaCore™ MIL-STD-1553 protocol engine (PE) with in-line signal capture. The testing was completed in April 2009 at Test Systems Incorporated of Phoenix, Arizona. The independent validation affirms Alta’s position as a leading provider of 1553 interfaces and protocol validation software. Rich Wade, CTO of Alta states, “For the second time in the past year, Alta passed full SAE AS4111 validation testing, this time for a major USAF platform. The test allowed Alta to verify its MIL-STD-1553 PE core design with the industry’s first in-line A/D signal capture for standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) interface cards. Also, this event verified that our AltaRTVal™ protocol testing software is an ideal aid to prepare for Test System’s comprehensive tests, and for general design verification and revision control for line replaceable units (LRUs).”
Harry Wild, VP of Sales for Alta said, “Alta has once again demonstrated that our innovative, industry leading designs match or exceed industry standards. This significant event verifies our MIL-STD-1553 AltaCore PE is ideal for the most demanding avionics and control network applications, and shows our AltaRTVal software is a perfect tool for protocol design validation.” He went on to state that Alta has recently won several major programs as their products are quickly being adopted for test, simulation and embedded 1553 and ARINC network applications. “We expect sales to accelerate as our industry leading products are further recognized in the marketplace,” he added.
Alta Data Technologies is a leading provider of avionics network interface cards and software for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC systems, and has introduced several new standard features such as the 1553 Common Data Packet architecture. Provided with most cards is an advanced, modular AltaAPI™ software tool kit that easily ports between operating systems and provides true, independent application support between device channels. Alta’s PCI, PMC, PCCARD, cPCI, XMC and PCI Express interface cards are offered in multi channel, multi protocol (1553 and/or ARINC) configurations. Operating system platforms include Microsoft’s Windows, Wind River’s VxWorks, Greenhill’s Integrity, LynxWorks’ LynxOS, Linux 32-bit and 64-bit and Solaris 64.
