September’s The Wire…from AirPlus: Hotel Negotiations in Focus
ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AirPlus International, a global provider of corporate travel payment solutions, releases The Wire…from AirPlus September 2009 edition titled: Hotel negotiations in focus. The survey found that travel professions are looking to capitalize on weak hotel markets to garner additional savings in 2010. More than 72% of survey respondents stated that their 2010 travel budgets would stay the same as now, or decrease. And 34% said they’ll go with suppliers at the lowest rates, even if that means a change. For 2010 contracts, respondents said that gaining additional room rate discounts (70%) and additional add-value items (56.7%) were the top two goals on the list of choices. “The survey results illustrate suppliers’ vulnerability in the marketplace,” said Richard Crum, President of AirPlus International, Inc. “AirPlus recognizes this trend and has an innovative product to help companies manage their hotel costs more effectively called AIDA. In the US, we market this product under the name of P-Log; a single-use, virtual card with features to increase control of travel spend and reduce fraud exposure.”
The Wire…from AirPlus is a monthly report on the pulse of the industry and its relevant topics. Results of this edition are based on a survey of 142 travel management professionals in North America and Europe in September 2009.
