Air China Providing 11.5% More Seats This Chinese New Year

BEIJING, January 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Air China is laying on 11.5% more seats this Chinese New Year holiday compared to last year, helping tens of thousands more people get home to their families for the most important holiday of the year. The nation's only flag carrier has scheduled 7.2 million seats on 40,000 flights for the year's busiest travel period, set to begin on Jan.19. Not only that, but some customers can purchase tickets for their Spring Festival travels from Air China at discounts of up to 80%.

Air China forecasts that the transport flow during the upcoming Spring Festival will increase by 12%. To accommodate passengers and satisfy travel demand, the airline will provide 5.77 million domestic seats and 1.43 million international seats for the peak travel period. Moreover, the carrier is offering a series of promotions to its customers.
Discounts of up to 80%
Until Feb.17, Air China is offering tickets with discounts of up to 80%, which will be especially useful for those who work away from home and want to reunite with their families for the holiday. For example, flights from Changchun and Shenyang to Beijing can be purchased for RMB290; and flights from Chongqing to Guangzhou for RMB240.
Double discounts for Spring Festival
Passengers who purchase tickets between today and Feb.17 can enjoy an extra 8% discount. For customers traveling Feb.4-8 or Feb.12-17, an extra discount of 10% is available.
The above promotions are valid only when buying tickets through the Air China sales hotline at 4008-986-999 or via . The availability of discounted tickets is limited during the Spring Festival. Travelers are advised to book their tickets as far in advance as possible. Further discounts are available when purchasing tickets from the airline's direct sale channels.
