South Jersey Economic Development District and American Aerospace to Host September 20 Aviation Webinar for Public Safety
MILLVILLE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Tuesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m., the South Jersey Economic Development District (SJEDD) and American Aerospace Advisors, Inc. will host a webinar for law enforcement, emergency response, and other public safety officials in an effort to realize the full potential of aviation in New Jersey.
“Our vision is to work with the SJEDD to ensure that first responders in New Jersey have the most effective aviation support possible utilizing both manned and unmanned aircraft.”
Gordon Dahl, Executive Director of the SJEDD said, “We are confident that the new capabilities being presented can help improve public safety, and represent a tremendous opportunity for economic growth in southern New Jersey.”
In recent weeks, the SJEDD tasked American Aerospace with a mission in support of Hurricane Irene disaster relief. The mission involved the utilization of manned aircraft in an effort to capture high-definition imagery, which was later processed and overlaid on Google Earth maps. The imagery provided relief teams with before and after snapshots of the hardest hit areas in the region.
“The South Jersey Economic Development District has demonstrated their commitment to the growth of aerospace in the region,” said David Yoel, CEO of American Aerospace. “Our vision is to work with the SJEDD to ensure that first responders in New Jersey have the most effective aviation support possible utilizing both manned and unmanned aircraft.”
In addition to American Aerospace’s photomapping capability, the organization also provides real-time streaming video on map, infrared video, and communication relay solutions—all from thousands of feet in the air.
There has been a significant rise in interest for aviation services for public safety throughout the country. In particular, unmanned aircraft, which have been so prevalent in military operations, are now beginning to make their mark in civil government. The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International recently held a conference in Washington D.C., which included several law enforcement organizations.
Mr. Dahl, who attended the conference, said “We look forward to the webinar on September 20th and getting the word out that there are innovative, cost-effective, and efficient aviation solutions that can help first responders preserve life and property.”
