Frontier Airlines Shifts Denver Departure Time to Better Accommodate Knoxville Business Travelers

Dépèche transmise le 15 décembre 2011 par Business Wire

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Knoxville business travelers may find it easier to accomplish their New Year’s resolutions in 2012, thanks to an announcement today by Frontier Airlines. The carrier is shifting the time of the Monday morning departure of its Knoxville (TYS) to Denver (DEN) flight from 9:37 a.m. to 6:25 a.m., providing for a 7:38 a.m. arrival in Denver. The change is effective Feb. 6, 2012.

“We sincerely appreciated that feedback. If moving our Monday departure three hours earlier makes our business travelers more productive, we’re happy to do so.”

The time change is the direct result of requests from Knoxville-area business travelers. In November, Frontier met with representatives of the regional business community to discuss the need for corporate support of its nonstop service to Denver – which began in June. At that meeting, business travelers told the airline that the current Monday flight schedule negatively affects their productivity, because they arrive in Denver too late to get in a full day of work.

“While our current schedule is convenient for leisure travelers, it essentially wastes the first workday of the week for business travelers – especially those connecting in Denver to one of our West Coast destinations,” explained Robert Westgate, senior director of Scheduling and Planning at Frontier. “We sincerely appreciated that feedback. If moving our Monday departure three hours earlier makes our business travelers more productive, we’re happy to do so.”

Westgate added that accommodating the request for a schedule change is another example of Frontier’s better and different way of doing business. Frontier’s low-fare, high-value service includes, among other things, its unique Classic and Classic Plus fares – available exclusively at FrontierAirlines.com – which provide additional amenities, including two free checked bags, no-fee itinerary changes, no-charge or reduced fees to upgrade to STRETCH seating, and 24 channels of free DirecTV® on Airbus flights.
