A plane full of British tourists including children had to make an unscheduled stop in Bermuda last night after a drunken passenger tried to open the door when the aircraft was 50,000ft over the Atlantic.

Police boarded the First Choice Boeing 767-300 at Bermuda airport and led the man away after he had been abusive to other passengers and cabin crew.

Passenger Dominic Carman, who was taking his wife and three children on holiday to Cuba, said: 'He was clearly very drunk.

'He was in a group of about seven or eight people and sitting about three seats away from me.

'He first became abusive to another passenger and they almost came to blows.

'The captain made an announcement that people who were drinking duty free they had brought with them should not drink any more, but the man continued to be abusive.'

Later, cabin crew tried to calm him down and the man - who has not been named - made a lunge to try to lift the door handle.

It was at that point the captain said he had no choice but to go to the nearest airport.

Mr Carman, who is a journalist, said: 'Police came on the plane and led him away.

'All the other passengers clapped as he was taken away.

'We've all been taken off the flight and are going to be put up in a hotel overnight and continue our flight tomorrow.'

The flight, FCAO82 with more than 250 passengers including some 30 children on board, had been due to leave Gatwick at midday yesterday but was delayed for four hours because of a technical problem.

However, Mr Carman said it was clear the man had been drinking before the flight took off.

Tout d'abord, un grand bravo à ce 767, qui doit être le tout premier à avoir atteint l'altitude de 50.000 pieds (faisant ainsi mieux que n'importe quel Airbus ---remarque que je n'ajoute que parce que c'est dans le fil "polémique", comprenez bien que je n'ai rien contre Airbus bien au contraire ).

Ensuite, sur une note plus sérieuse, la cabine étant pressurisée, il me semblait que l'ouverture de la porte en altitude est tout bonnement impossible... Me trompe-je ?

Si c'est bien le cas, alors pas besoin d'un parachute pour se débarasser des emmerdeurs, béochien, on peut tout simplement pas...

A moins de faire appel à Martin Baker.

Bof ... une petite descente vite fait à 10 000 pied pour ne pas l'asphyxier ni le geler ... devrait suffire et aussi pour le confort des autres pax une depressur ça traumatise toujours un peu !

Et ces 767 British pour monter à 50 000 ils doivent marcher au Scotch 18 ans ... A moins que ce ne soit leur presse !

Ca doit être la pleine lune ??

JETSTAR is investigating claims a flight attendant and first officer were photographed mid-flight sitting in the captain's seat of one of the budget airline's aircraft.

Shots leaked to crikey.com.au show the female flight attendant and male first officer apparently taking turns to be photographed in the cockpit.

"Jetstar has launched an internal investigation and appropriately alerted aviation authorities following the publication of material alleging a flight attendant was positioned in the pilot's seat of one of its fleet of A300-200 aircraft whilst in-flight," Jetstar said today.

The great heave forward... Chinese passengers are forced to get out and push their broken passenger plane

Anyone who has ever used budget airlines know only too well how uncomfortable it can be: long queues, cramped seats and every tiny extra costs you.

But at least they are never told to get out and help push their plane.

That is exactly what happened to a group of passengers in China who were asked to get out and push after their plane broke down shortly after landing.

The Chinese Shandong airlines flight CRJ7 arrived safely at Zhengzhou from Guilin, but broke down before it could taxi to the passenger terminal.

Airport staff were called out to help push, but they had to ask some of the 69 passengers on board to help because the plane would not budge.

It took the group nearly two hours to shove the plane half a mile to a side lane.

One of the airport workers said: 'Thank God it was only a 20-ton medium-sized aeroplane. If it were a big plane, it would have knocked us out.'

The plane remained parked in the side lane on Friday night, waiting for technicians arriving on the next flight to fix the problem.
