Drones ! Moteurs. Lien : http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site ... ewsLang=en 25 septembre 2008 10:43 PM Europe / Heure dété (Paris, Rome, Berlin, Francfort) Rolls-Royce Powers Northrop Grumman Global Hawk for New Maritime Surveillance Fleet INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rolls-Royce today announced that they will be providing AE 3007H engines to power the U.S. Navys Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System (BAMS UAS). The RQ-4N is a maritime derivative of the RQ-4B Global Hawk, currently in production for the U.S. Air Force. It will provide the Navy with a maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) system to protect the fleet and provide a capability to detect, track, classify, and identify maritime and littoral targets. Rolls-Royce AE 3007H turbofan engines are the natural choice for Northrop Grumman because of their outstanding performance, high altitude capabilities and extensive operational experience on the RQ-4 Global Hawk, said Carl Johnson, Vice President of Northrop Grummans BAMS UAS program. Dennis Jarvi, President of the Rolls-Royce Defense North America business, said: Being a member of the BAMS UAS team builds upon the expertise Rolls-Royce has developed in powering unmanned platforms. The AE 3007H turbofan engines that power Global Hawks in service today have accumulated 24,000 hours of operation, including 18,000 hours of active deployment. It is this expertise that will come into play as the RQ-4N performs the critical military missions of the future. ----------------------------- The RQ-4N is based on the Block 20 version of Global Hawk, which includes a larger airframe and wingspan, a redesigned and strengthened fuselage over the original Block 10, resulting in a 3,000 lb. internal payload capacity. More than 2400 AE 3007 engines are in worldwide use today in Embraers ERJ regional jet and Cessnas Citation X 0.92 Mach corporate jet Ceci , aussi, est une donnée significative ! Lien : http://www.rolls-royce.com/media/showPR.jsp?PR_ID=40712 Rolls-Royce wins £96M contract to power Royal Navy aircraft carriers 06 October 2008 Rolls-Royce, a world leader in marine solutions, has won a £96 million contract to provide power and propulsion equipment, including four gas turbines, for two of the world's largest warships - the UK’s new 65,000 tonne aircraft carriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales. The order is an important milestone in the Rolls-Royce marine business strategy of being a major supplier of integrated power and propulsion systems for naval and commercial ships. Oui ! ------------------- Rolls-Royce is supplying the MT30 gas turbine, the most powerful available in the marine market today, as part of an integrated system which includes the giant carrier’s propellers and propeller shafts as well as rudders, stabilisers and some electrical systems. John Paterson, Rolls-Royce President - Marine said: ".....The contract is the third major naval programme to be powered by the MT30, as the engine has already been selected for the Lockheed Martin version of the Littoral Combat Ship and DDG-1000 destroyer, both for the U.S. Navy.” Bon pour l'UE et pour la passerelle UE / USA et réciproquement ! ----------------------------- Rolls-Royce is supplying the equipment as part of a ‘sub-alliance’ team that has overall responsibility for delivery of the entire power and propulsion system. The contract has been awarded by the carrier main alliance partner, Thales UK. Fabuleuse performance de THALES ! -------------------------------------- NB : The MT30 gas turbine order continues a relationship with the Royal Navy that dates back to 1953, when RM60 gas turbines powered HMS Grey Goose. The MT30 is part of the Rolls-Royce Trent family of engines which power commercial airliners. Ce dernier point est si significaitf ! Pas de moteur vraiment 'orphelin' chez RR ! |

Bonne nouvelle pour EADS North America ! En quelque sorte, ... du positif pour Eurocopter ! ------------------ Lien : http://www.marketwire.com/press-release ... 06991.html Oct 06, 2008 09:39 ET EADS North America to Provide the U.S. Navy With UH-72 Lakota Light Utility Helicopters Highlighted Links EADS North AmericaARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2008) - The U.S. Navy has become a new military user of the UH-72 Light Utility Helicopter, provided by EADS North America, with the service ordering five aircraft for use in pilot training at the Naval Test Pilot School at Patuxent River, Maryland. With this new acquisition, the Navy joins the active Army and the Army National Guard in acquiring UH-72 Lakotas -- underscoring the twin-engine helicopter's versatility in a full range of operational missions and applications. The Navy's firm fixed-price order is valued at more than $24 million. Deliveries are scheduled from October 2009 through January 2010. "The U.S. Navy contract is a further validation of the UH-72's versatility and mission capability, and confirms EADS North America's capacity to perform as a top-tier military supplier," said Ralph D. Crosby, EADS North America's Chairman and CEO. "We have delivered over 40 Lakotas on time and on budget to the Army and National Guard, and are committed to continuing this high standard of performance with the Navy." UH-72A Lakota helicopters have been in the U.S. Army inventory since late 2006. Today, more than 40 aircraft are operating with Army and Army National Guard units across the country. More than 350 Lakotas are currently planned for acquisition by the Army through 2017, with mission responsibilities ranging from homeland security to support and logistics missions. Production of the UH-72 is performed at the Golden Triangle Regional airport in Columbus, Mississippi under the management of American Eurocopter, an EADS North America business unit. ................ C'est déjà ça ! -------------------------------- Lakota deliveries to the Army and National Guard currently average three to four helicopters per month, with the capacity to reach five UH-72s monthly. The military UH-72 is based on the highly successful Eurocopter EC145 multi-role civilian helicopter, which is in service worldwide for transport, medical evacuation, off-shore, law enforcement and other missions. Lien : http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/20 ... f-16s.html DATE:09/10/08. SOURCE:Flight International Taiwan to get 30 Apaches, but no new F-16s By Siva Govindasamy Taiwan's hopes of buying Lockheed Martin F-16C/Ds from the USA remain bleak, with Washington going ahead with a separate $6.5 billion arms package that includes attack helicopters and upgrades for existing aircraft. "Hobson's Choice" : à prendre ou à laisser / "take it or leave it " ! ---------------------------- The US Department of Defense on 3 October notified Congress of a plan to sell 30 Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters worth $2.5 billion, upgrade packages for Taipei's four Northrop Grumman E-2C Hawkeye airborne warning and control system aircraft, and badly needed spares for the island's Lockheed F-16A/B and Northrop F-5 fighters. -- Lire : http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/20 ... ports.html DATE:10/10/08. SOURCE:Flight International Qatar signs contract for four C-130J transports By Craig Hoyle Ceci devrait fair sonner quelques signaux d'alerte, sinon d'alarme !
