University of Notre Dame’s Jack Swarbrick to Be Opening Featured Speaker at GBTA Sports Conference
ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry—today announced Jack Swarbrick, vice president, Director of Athletics, University of Notre Dame will be the opening featured speaker at the GBTA Sports Conference 2011 being held July 21-22, at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, Indianapolis, Ind. The GBTA Sports Conference will focus on the unique needs of the sports business travel sector.

Swarbrick, a University of Notre Dame graduate, rose to national prominence as a lawyer, consultant and executive in the collegiate and Olympic sports industries, begins his fourth year as the vice president and director of athletics for his alma mater. Swarbrick has led an impressive career at University of Notre Dame with NCAA championships, NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship winners, record involvement in community service hours by Irish student-athletes, the hiring of Irish head football coach Brian Kelly, as well as the opening and expanding of Irish athletic sporting facilities.

Swarbrick is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Upon graduating from Stanford University Law School, he returned to Indiana to accept a position as an associate in the Indianapolis law firm Baker & Daniels where he spent 28 years.
