DUBAI, UAE, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
As the world fast progresses into an age where everything electronic reigns and the web is considered the way of the future, schools have begun stressing on their students the importance of staying abreast of all Global technological advances.
With their hand at the pulse of global affairs, Seawings along with a host of other organisations has sponsored the 10th ICDL Computer Summer Camp that began in June 2011.
Launched by the ICDL GCC Foundation, the governing body and the certification authority of the International Computer Driving License program in the Gulf States and Iraq, the event was attended by thousands of students from across the region.
Seawings Commercial Manager Prerna Fogat was very enthusiastic about the event and the great education it provides today's youth. "It's a truly great event to be part of. To be able to provide these bright young minds with the training and skills they need in the future."
Endorsed by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), and with the support of Education Ministries in the GCC states, the ICDL Computer Summer Camp 2011, will be held at various university campuses and other educational establishments.
The camps aim to complement the educational reform to eliminate digital illiteracy within educational systems in schools and universities, and create a motivating, self learning environment for students.
"By supporting the ICDL Computer Summer Camps our aim was to empower the youth with the skills and competencies that will make them confident in the use of computers," said Mrs. Fogat. "We are glad to be part of this global movement and hope that our efforts as well as those of the ICDL will help the young people of today and tomorrow more socially well rounded citizens."
