DDC-I and HighRely Host April 5 Webinar on DO-178C and Safety-Critical Software Reuse
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, and HighRely, an avionics development and certification consulting company, today announced that they will host a free webinar on DO-178C safety-critical software development and reuse for safety-critical applications. The live interactive webinar, which will be given April 5 at 12:00 EDT, targets avionics systems/software engineers and engineering managers who wish to reuse software, adapt it to new target environments, and reduce long-term development time and cost. Register now for the complimentary webinar at: http://event.on24.com/r.htm?e=294467&s=1&k=E657B7E48035428B58F4DDF24AAEB420&partnerref=ddci.
Software reuse in avionics has been the Holy Grail for decades. DO-178C’s recognition of modern software development practices, coupled with Advisory Circular (AC) 20-148, which provides a roadmap for certifying Reusable Software Components (RSCs), makes the potential for reuse a reality. This webinar will focus on the RSC guidance provided in AC 20-148, and the emerging potential of reusable components in conjunction with DO-178C to reduce the risk and cost of utilizing modern software practices and certifying reusable software. The webinar will use real-world examples to illustrate practical application of the RSC guidance.
