Simpler Consulting Announces New Book Detailing Successful Strategies of Lean Transformation
Dépèche transmise le 1 août 2011 par Business Wire
PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Simpler Consulting, L.P., a leading global management consulting firm that helps companies improve processes to stimulate business-impacting results, today announced that Vice President Chris Cooper authored a new book, The Little Book of Lean. Drawing on his more than 20 years of experience leading lean transformations, Cooper authored the book to serve as a fundamental guide to teach business leaders and entrepreneurs the essential and basic foundations of lean management.
“Chris Cooper’s expertise in teaching companies how to implement a successful lean strategy led him to develop a book that will undoubtedly become a go-to resource for business leaders in both the beginning and late stages of their lean transformation”
“The idea for The Little Book of Lean came directly through my client work at Simpler Consulting. As my clients came to me for resources that taught the basics of lean management, they often found literature that focused too heavily on lean manufacturing,” said Cooper. “Whether it is public sector or a local community hospital, I have yet to find a business that did not benefit from lean thinking. I hope The Little Book of Lean will be a straightforward guide that introduces businesses from all industries to lean thinking.”
Throughout the book, the reader is taken on a step-by-step journey on how to recognize waste and understand value, eventually leading them to create a successful plan for lean cultural transformation. Each key element of the book includes a question, designed to provoke thought and stimulate conversation. Sample topics include:
- Know Waste before Claiming to Know Work
- Understand Value
- Learn to See Waste
- Routine Rhythm for Improvement
- What Happens When Waste is Eliminated
- Creating the Culture
“Chris Cooper’s expertise in teaching companies how to implement a successful lean strategy led him to develop a book that will undoubtedly become a go-to resource for business leaders in both the beginning and late stages of their lean transformation,” said Marc Hafer, CEO of Simpler Consulting. “As we continue to come out of this economic downturn, business leaders across all industries are looking for ways to emerge stronger than before. This book provides organizations with the essential tools they need to get back to basics and make an impact.”
