Harris Corporation , an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded a three-year, $6 million contract by the Enterprise Financial Systems Division of the U.S. Air Force Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems to support and enhance their Automated Business Services System (ABSS). Harris has held two contracts supporting ABSS since 2006.

FedEx Corp. today reported earnings of $1.57 per diluted share for the second quarter ended November 30. Last year’s second quarter earnings were $0.89 per diluted share, which included $0.27 per diluted share in costs related to the combination of the company’s FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL operations and a reserve associated with a legal matter at FedEx Express. Excluding those one-time charges, earnings were $1.16 per diluted share a year ago.

SOMS Technologies LLC announced today that it has entered into an agreement through its national distribution partner, MOBILE Installation Technologies, LLC, with TUG Technologies Corporation (TUG) whereby TUG will be the exclusive supplier of the microGreen Extended Performance Oil Filter to the airline and air cargo industries. TUG is also extending its recommended oil drain intervals for all new TUG vehicles by 6 times when using the microGreen filter. This will provide TUG’s current and future customers the opportunity to reduce oil maintenance costs by up to 65%, while reducing oil consumption by 70% and reducing filter usage by 50%. It is expected that a typical major air carrier will save in excess of $1,000,000 in oil maintenance costs while reducing its CO2 emissions by over 750,000 lbs. TUG will also be offering the microGreen filter through its TUG airport maintenance shops and as a customer installed option for new equipment.
