PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sarnoff Corporation, a leading provider of iris imaging technology, today announced it has been selected by the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam to test its Iris on the Move^® (IOM) Portal iris recognition system.

Sarnoff’s IOM Portal was one of only three systems selected for Schiphol Airport’s advanced biometric identification testing. The airport has begun testing all three systems in a closed testing environment to understand how different biometric identification technologies work in real-world scenarios.

IOM is ideal for Schiphol’s testing program since it’s a proven biometric verification system that operates differently from any other biometric identification solutions on the market today. The technology works by quickly capturing the iris image of a person in motion, combining the advanced security of iris recognition with the speed and convenience of a pass-through system.

While other iris scanning technologies require users to stop and stare directly into a scanner for a set period of time, IOM technology operates differently.
