Bloomberg Rankings Give Frontier High Marks
Dépèche transmise le 19 décembre 2011 par Business Wire
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Frontier Airlines has ranked near the top of a Bloomberg Rankings analysis of service charges and operating performance of the nation’s 10 largest airlines. The analysis covered common fees airlines charge passengers such as those to check bags and make ticket changes, as well as operating data like on-time arrivals and flight cancellations.
“Frontier employees take great pride in providing our guests with a low-fare, high-value travel experience – every day, on every flight. And the Bloomberg Ranking validates that our better and different way of doing business results in the customer-pleasing combination of low fees and excellent performance”
On a scale of one to 100, Frontier earned 61.6 points to earn the second-highest ranking in the study. The complete ranking follows:
|
1. Southwest Airlines – 73.2
2. Frontier Airlines – 61.6 3. Alaska Airlines – 56.3 4. AirTran Airways – 45.1 5. Delta Airlines – 44.3 |
6. JetBlue Airways – 38.1
7. Continental Airlines – 35.7 8. United Airlines – 33.6 9. US Airways – 32.5 10. American Airlines – 31.2 |
The fees category consisted of five variables: baggage (cost of checked bags, fees for oversize/over-weight bags, maximum size for checked and carry-on bags), ticket change fees, inflight dining fees, inflight entertainment fees and pet transportation fees. The performance category included scope of flights, percent of flights arriving on time, average length of delay in minutes for delayed flights, percent of flights canceled and flight crowding.
Frontier ranked best in two of the 10 variables covered by the analysis – average length of delay (46.1 minutes) and flights cancelled (0.6%). It ranked among the best in most of the remaining variables.
Frontier’s industry-leading low fares and great service make the airline an attractive choice for value-conscious travelers, according to Bryan Bedford, president and chief executive officer of Frontier Airlines. "Frontier employees take great pride in providing our guests with a low-fare, high-value travel experience – every day, on every flight. And the Bloomberg Ranking validates that our better and different way of doing business results in the customer-pleasing combination of low fees and excellent performance,” said Bedford.
