Come Fry with Me! Stephen Fry Tops the ‘Celeb Flight Club’ Dream Team, Reveals Skyscanner
EDINBURGH, Scotland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--From David Beckham to David Attenborough, a poll of 1000 travellers by flight comparison site Skyscanner has revealed which celebrities people would most like to take to the skies with on their next flight.
Beating Hollywood royalty Johnny Depp and footballing heavyweight David Beckham, the surprise choice for the celebrity people most wanted to sit beside was Stephen Fry. The QI host took 22% of the vote while at the other end of the scale X Factor’s Tulisa was least popular with just 1% of votes.
Hollywood heavyweight and March of the Penguins narrator Morgan Freeman was the smooth-voiced first choice for PA announcements, with a massive 22% of the vote. Freeman beat the seductive Scottish tones of Sean Connery (12%) and British institution David Attenborough (10%), while poor old gravelly-voiced housewife Marge Simpson brought up the rear with just 2% of the votes.
Following in the footsteps of Man Utd star Wayne Rooney, who bizarrely does the safety demo on Turkish Airlines, Graham Norton (16%) edged out Alan Carr (13%) in a camp contest to point out the emergency exits. After Cebu Pacific Airlines cabin crew caused an internet sensation with their safety demo to Lady Gaga’s Just Dance, 10% of Skyscanner customers would like to see the Lady herself as the star of the safety demo.
Jamie Oliver was voted the most popular choice of chef to create the in-flight meal with 28% of the votes, beating fellow celeb chefs Ramsay and Heston, who have collaborated with Singapore Airlines and British Airways respectively. Perhaps the most surprising result was for the head chef at the World’s Best Restaurant, Noma - who limped in last place, finishing behind even Ronald McDonald (2%) and Chef from South Park (5%)!
