Esterel Technologies Joins The Open Group FACE Consortium
ELANCOURT, France & BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Esterel Technologies, the leading worldwide provider of model-based development solutions for critical systems and software, today announced that it has joined The Open Group’s Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) Consortium. As a member, Esterel Technologies will provide input and guidance on developing, evolving and publishing a realistic open FACE architecture, standards and business model for next-generation avionics applications. Esterel Technologies joins a team of 39 companies that are developing these future standards.
“The growing interest in the FACE Consortium from companies such as Esterel Technologies brings the FACE Consortium one step closer to developing the ideal framework for making the military avionics computing environment more robust, interoperable, portable and secure in a timely and affordable manner.”

The final open architecture and supporting standards created by the group will be adopted by government agencies for future avionics capability procurements.
“We look forward to becoming an active member of this important group,” said Tony Karam, Vice President of Americas Operations for Esterel Technologies. “The Open Group has a solid track record of creating standards that help organizations achieve important business objectives. We are honored to lend Esterel Technologies vast avionics expertise to the development of the FACE standard.”
“Esterel Technologies’ commitment to improving the capabilities and safety for aerospace and defense companies align well with our vision for the FACE Consortium,” said Allen Brown, president and CEO at The Open Group. “The growing interest in the FACE Consortium from companies such as Esterel Technologies brings the FACE Consortium one step closer to developing the ideal framework for making the military avionics computing environment more robust, interoperable, portable and secure in a timely and affordable manner.”
