Sabre Employees Raise More Than $1 Million for Local Charities Through Global Give Together Campaign
SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of Sabre’s 11th annual Give Together Campaign, Sabre global employees raised more than $1 million to benefit more than 700 charities in more than 30 countries. This year, thousands of Sabre employees organized and participated in hundreds of local events to raise money benefiting charities in their local communities.
“There’s a sense of connectedness between Sabre employees and the local communities in which we work. The Give Together Campaign embodies our engagement in making a positive difference in the lives of others.”
“Our annual giving campaign is just one of the many ways Sabre employees demonstrate their commitment to our mission of Better Travel, Better World,” said Jennifer Barkley, manager of global community involvement for Sabre Holdings. “There’s a sense of connectedness between Sabre employees and the local communities in which we work. The Give Together Campaign embodies our engagement in making a positive difference in the lives of others.”
Give Together is Sabre’s largest philanthropic undertaking and has raised more than $16 million since 2000. Benefiting charities around the world, Sabre employees raise donations from employee giving, fundraising events and Sabre’s matching donations. Give Together gives employees an opportunity to support a charity or cause they care about on a personal level.
Employees in the Asia-Pacific region came together to raise money through cooking classes in Sydney, hair and fashion show in Mumbai, and photo contest in Shanghai. Donations were made to 15 local charities including The Starlight Foundation, Morning Star Ministries and Hope Ministries International.
In Europe, Middle East and Africa, employees held luncheon events, a table tennis championship, foosball championships, and online auctions to support 28 charities in the region, including the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in the UK, Green Village Youth Center in Israel and the Promyczek Youth Community Center in Poland.
Across Latin America, Sabre employees hosted events and organized fundraisers such as a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser in Costa Rica and a food and flower sale in Mexico to benefit 25 local charities, including Matamoros Children's Home in Mexico, Hogar Teresa de los Andes in Bolivia, and Animales Sin Hogar in Uruguay.
