Schafer Corporation Commences Support on New Award to the Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Schafer Corporation, a leading provider of scientific, engineering, and technical services and products applied to defeating critical security threats, has started work for the Department of Homeland Security’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support services. The start work follows award from DNDO of a Basic Purchasing Agreement and a first task order valued at approximately $40M and covering 2.5 years, including options. Schafer will provide scientific, engineering and operational support to all DNDO Directorates and DNDO Headquarters.

The DNDO award strengthens an important strategic capability by enhancing Schafer’s competency in combating the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Schafer activity in this area also includes scientific and engineering services contributions to intelligence assessments of WMD proliferation, missile defense, defeat of prospective adversaries’ WMD capabilities, and advanced WMD effects mitigation.
